🔸 Zen Based(1st Generation)
This series is more commonly known as the Ryzen 1000 series. They introduced this series in 2017. They contain 4 cores( in lower-end processors) to 16 cores (for higher-end processors).
🔸 Zen+ Series(2nd Generation)
Zen+ is the codename for AMD’s microarchitecture for computer processors. It is the successor to AMD’s first-generation Zen microarchitecture, which was first released in April 2018.
Zen+ powers the second generation of Ryzen processors, which are known as Ryzen 2000 for mainstream desktop systems, Threadripper 2000 for high-end desktop setups, and Ryzen 3000G (instead of 2000G) for accelerated processing units (APUs).
🔸 Zen 2 Series(3rd Generation)
AMD’s Zen 2 microarchitecture is a computer processor microarchitecture. It is based on TSMC’s 7 nanometer MOSFET node and is the successor to AMD’s Zen and Zen+ microarchitectures. This Processor lineup was introduced in 2019.
Ryzen 3000 (codename “Matisse”) for mainstream desktop chips, Ryzen 4000U/H (codename “Renoir”) and Ryzen 5000U (codename “Lucienne”) for mobile applications, Threadripper 3000 for high-end desktop systems, and Ryzen 4000G for accelerated processing units are all based on the microarchitecture (APUs).
🔸 Zen 3 Series(4th Generation)
AMD’s Zen 3 processor microarchitecture will be unveiled on November 5, 2020. It is the successor to Zen 2 and employs the 7 nm process from TSMC for chipsets and the 14 nm process from GlobalFoundries for the I/O die on server chips and desktop chips with 12nm fabrication.
Ryzen 5000 standard desktop processors (codenamed “Vermeer”) and Epyc server processors are powered by Zen 3. (codenamed “Milan”).
🔸 5000 Series Processor
In October 2020, AMD introduced the Ryzen 5000 family of processors based on the Zen 3 architecture. This series of desktop-class CPUs is the successor to the previous 3000 series, with improved performance, a redesigned core, and even greater efficiency to put the squeeze on Intel.

AMD has just launched its 7000 CPU at the time of writing. Many of us thought AMD couldn’t keep up with Intel’s 12th generation, but they surprised everyone by putting Intel’s power to shame with this series.
